What I love about mindfulness is that once it becomes a daily practice, it's really hard for you to unlearn it. The part that makes mindfulness a bit tricky is that it can be intimidating to start (particularly meditating) and hard to follow through in practicing.
You may be racing against the clock or continually interrupted, but regardless, I've made up a list of 40 things that you can do be mindful everyday and who knows, one of them may actually fit into your schedule quite nicely.
1) Plant seeds in the spring
2) Close your eyes, count to 20
3) Draw awareness to your breath
4) Colour
5) Pet your cat or dog
6) Listen for 5 sounds
7) Take photos of nature
8) Watch the clouds
9)Do a puzzle
10) Dance
11) Eat slowly and intentionally. Taste you food
12) Gratitude journal
13) Try something new
14) Explore
15) Listen to the trees
16) Visualize something you want to achieve
17) Yoga or taking a moment to stretch while you work
18) Bake
19) Meditate
20) Leave a room without evidence that anyone was in the room
21) Positive affirmations
22) Write a letter or a note to someone
23) Make a prayer or loving-kindness flag
24) Collect pretty rocks on your walk
25) Watch birds in flight
26) Cleanse your home of the things that don't bring your happiness or add value
27) Blend or diffuse essential oils
28) Light a candle and watch it flicker
29) Journal
30) Draw or doodle
31) Garden
32) Create a vision board
33) Sit by water and watch it move
34) Unplug
35) Touch the door frame every time you walk in the room and say "be mindful"
36) Make a cup of tea and watch the steam
37) Drink water
38) Set goals or intentions for the day
39) Smell clean laundry while folding it
40) Notice how everything is truly a miracle
